My 5 favourite bloggers this month.

I often assume that everyone else is following the same bloggers as me, but I’ve come to realise that this is not always the case. So I’ve decided I will start sharing my 5 favourite travel bloggers each month.

There will be some amazing bloggers who share great destination stories and they are not on my list…yet. It’s not for any other reason than that this is a personal list and I may not have discovered them yet. I love finding new inspiring folk to follow so if you think there is someone I should know about, tell me!

Let’s start with the definition of a Blogger:

A person who shares stories and images about stuff they do or things they care about.

Ok, so it may not be the exact definition of a blogger but I think it pretty much sums it up.

Some bloggers are really bloody good at blogging, they inspire their audience, are dedicated to their blog and have made a career from writing on their blog. The rest of the blogging community pretty much do it for the love of blogging! These bloggers share their stories and experiences when they want to. There is no real agenda and they do it purely for the joy or for the challenge. They are busy with life and blog when they can and don’t fret when they are out of wifi range.

The style of peeps I like to follow.

Over the past few years, I have been following travel bloggers who are young couples and families, some who have ‘gone pro’ and some who do it as a love job. And I assure you, there is no one on this list who goes camping with white picnic rugs and white camping chairs (trust me, they’re out there). It may look pretty and make stunning images but it’s just not real life!

Here are my 5 favourite bloggers this month…

Sparkys on the Loose

are engaged electricians lapping Australia, creating informative YouTube videos about their favourite destinations, gear reviews and generally having heaps of fun! I started following them for three reasons when they first set off for their trip around Oz. Firstly, they reminded me so much of when Adam and I set off on our first lap, without kids and ‘adult’ responsibilities. Secondly, they have an off road Coromal caravan similar to ours and thirdly, they travel with their faithful dog, Rusty.

Salty Summits

are a young couple who went vanning around Australia in their VW transporter with their little pooch, Tosca. They create beautiful images and take on interesting work, like Outback station jobs and cameleering! Ben & Scout have stopped full time travel for now, but still reveal loads of new images of places they’ve been on the ‘gram.

My Rig Adventures

are a family with primary aged kids, who pulled the plug on the rat race, escaping in their pimped out Nissan Patrol and Jayco Starcraft caravan. They’ve been road tripping full time for almost 2 years, sharing their lifestyle, experiences and road schooling their two kids along the way. Emma and Allan have heaps of planning tips, guides and campground information on their website. They also happen to be really down to earth in real life!

Power Shala

are a couple travelling around Australia in their 4WD and roof top tent. It’s always fun to read their captions on their Instagram feed. They have also picked up interesting work contracts. More recently, they had a work gig at Matt Wright’s Top End Safari Camp. What an experience! I am really looking forward to seeing what’s in store for Max & Faye.

The Blonde Nomads

After selling their family home in Sydney, The Blonde Nomads embarked on a lap of Australia with their two young children, sharing beautiful images of their favourite destinations. While Rob & Tracy no longer travel full time, they still travel often, here in Australia and abroad. They’ve recently purchased a new touring rig (the old one is pictured above) and I’m looking forward to watching the new build.

I hope you’ve discovered someone new to follow from my first “5 favourite monthly blogger” shout out.
